Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are esters of phthalic acid and are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity). They are used primarily to soften polyvinyl chloride. Studies have shown that phthalates can damage the liver, the kidneys, the lungs and the reproductive system.The regulations in different countries to restrict Phthalates are showed as the following table.
